Job Description

The position is responsible for identifying, coordinating, facilitating and implementing, by working with relevant teams within the organization, initiatives that would help improve the performance of the organization in the areas of Quality, Productivity, Safety and Team engagement. This is a highly visible plant level position overseeing continuous improvement for multiple business units within this facility. Excellent opportunity to create and execute a lean-roadmap from scratch for a well-established organization.


  • Develop, coordinate and implement continuous improvement activities to improve organizational performance in the areas of Quality, Productivity and Safety
  • Be able to effectively work with a cross sectional group of individuals with varying skill sets and experience
  • Be able to problem solve issues related to technical and people processes as it relates to quality and productivity
  • Be able to effectively utilize problem solving tools such as 8D, 5Why, statistical analysis
  • Be able to effectively define the problems and focus the organizational resources to solve them
  • Utilize Lean processes and 80-20 approach to get the biggest ROI on spent resources (people, time, money)
  • Hire team members as required and manage to bring out the best in them
  • Develop and help execute productivity goals by working with other leadership team members
  • Review and assist with identifying capacity requirements to meet future sales and new markets.
  • Assist in execution of yearly budget, capital spending plans, staffing requirements, and long-term goals.
  • As part of the Staff team, develop and administer policies such as vacation, hiring, communications, union avoidance, etc.
  • Oversee manufacturing departments, as needed on an interim basis, to meet safety, quality, on time delivery, customer expectations, employee relations, and overall plant measures.
  • Report performance and other metric indices within the organization
  • Provide leadership and training to other managers and supervisors. Create employee training programs.
  • Provide plant performance feedback to employees through regularly scheduled employee meetings.
  • Perform work in accordance with company’s AS9100/ISO 9001/NADCAP/A2LA Quality Management Systems

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical or Engineering related field.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in managing a manufacturing operation.
  • Candidates need to be 100% CI focused and not QA driven.
