AECOM is seeking out a well qualified and motivated Senior Transportation Project Manager with a background in highway and roadway design for a great role in our Denver, CO office.

  • Senior technical resource which will serve as technical advisor for team
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepares technical specification sections.
  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
  • Initiate and create project designs and drawings/plans for transportation and/or civil design projects
  • Perform detailed design including preparation of complete calculation packages and development of details.
  • Guide drafting team for preparation of drawings from early stages of the design to the final contract plans.
  • Understand the importance of review and quality control and able to perform review of design calculations and drawings and specifications
  • Prepare and contribute in the development and implementation of technical approach in projects in collaboration with the Project Manager
  • Oversee the work of less experienced designers. 
  • Meet with clients to ensure client needs are met


Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS + 10 Years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Transportation Engineering
  • 15 years of relevant project PS&E design experience
  • 5 years' DOT experience
  • Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado
  • Proficient with DOT Design Standards
  • 5 years’ experience with proposal and business development, client presentations and relationship development
  • Demonstrated success in achieving scope, schedule, and budget goals on a large-scale transportation project.
