Job Summary: The shipping and receiving clerk is responsible for all incoming and outgoing shipments and mail. This position coordinates communication between the parts department and service department, as well as to other locations to ensure proper shipments and timeframes.

Essential Functions:
Hours: 40-hour week ? occasionally overtime may be required; the customer's needs are primary to all goals and concerns.
Determine method and mode of shipment to customer/vendor specifications
Receive in all parts.
Inspect incoming shipments for quality. Report defective or questionable conditions to Manager. Call factories on shortages and wrong parts.
Issue call tags for parts that were shipping incorrectly.
Receive purchase orders as well as allocate the parts to the tickets, and transfer to the correct stock.
Compare identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
Prepare and expedite shipments as needed. Determine labeling requirements, assemble and pack shipment, prepare and affix shipping labels. Prepare shipping documents in a timely and accurate manner. Post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage.
Help customers with pulling parts to ship and billing parts
Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
Use good judgment and exercise tact and discretion in frequent public and intra company dealings
Ability to use a personal computer and operate VMS software, as well as other software as needed (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Operate office machines such as fax, copier, calculator, telephone, etc.
Physically perform job functions. Maximum lifting requirement ? 75 lbs. Requires standing for prolonged periods of time, some sitting, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, reaching overhead, and climbing.
