Job Summary: The Facility Manager directs warehouse and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Monitor the overall status of inbound & outbound operations for the building.
  • Plan and regulate labor, limiting overtime, to ensure operating costs are kept to the required level to be profitable & to service all accounts.
  • Communicate with CEO and other members of leadership on any urgent issues.
  • Communicate with all account managers to ensure all departments in the building are working in unison towards the same goals.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by enforcing safety and security protocols.
  • Manage performance of managers/supervisors through coaching, counseling and progressive discipline, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Learn, understand, and follow all company processes and procedures related to production, safety and personnel management.
  • Run reports and utilize information that is relevant, current, and clear to communicate building performance to upper leadership.
  • Present data to upper leadership to make suggestions for process and safety improvements
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism including mutual trust and respect to all company employees.
  • Help employees identify critical problems, consequences, and alternatives. Partners with Human Resources for guidance in situation that arise with employees.
  • Ensure leadership is reviewing and approving weekly time-cards, time off requests and missed punches as well as coaching employees on attendance issues and meal break violations.
  • Communicate and plan coverage for leadership absences.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of production machinery and job-related service delivery equipment and processes are required
  • Experience with process flow design and implementation
  • Experience with proper documentation for process flows, building layouts, projects management, procurement ROI to obtain executive approval
  • Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Strong excellent verbal and written communications skills, proven ability to work and communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to conduct presentations, facilitate meetings, training
  • Possess excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet timely deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a positive attitude to promote a great working environment
  • Work with all departments to create a safe and healthy work environment
  • Must be flexible with work schedule when needed
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required

Equipment Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

Experience Requirements

Generally, requires minimum of seven (7+) years' experience in warehouse operations, manufacturing or distribution environment. Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field preferred or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.

Judgment/Reasoning Ability: Able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise and diplomacy. Ability to use judgment and reasoning skills, and determine when to escalate issues, as required, in a timely manner.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb stairs, use hands and fingers, bend, stoop and reach with hands and arms. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to perform essential duties throughout the workday. The employee may occasionally lift or move materials and products up to 50 pounds.Proper lifting techniques required.
