Silco Fire and Security is looking to hire a Vice President of its Security Division to their growing team! We are seeking an experienced VP and Security Executive to lead this line of business and be an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team. This leader will have full responsibility across sales, and operations, for the security P&L and lead the unit to meet aggressive financial goals as well as goals for improvements to customers and operational KPIs. This VP of Security will oversee a team including 3 Regional Operations Managers (approximately 60 people in security operations), and 1 Sales Manager with a total sales team of 15 people. Again, this role is the leader/GM of the Security Division overseeing all aspects including P&L, Sales and Operations.

Silco entered the Security Integration business 10 years ago and has grown annual security sales to 25% of the total business revenue. Security encompasses video surveillance, access control, fire & security alarms, automatic gates & doors, and overhead doors. Silco has had great success growing the business by cross selling their large base of over 35,000 fire protection customers.

Reporting to the President, this position can be based in Cincinnati, Dayton, Cleveland, Columbus, or Akron. Frequent travel between Silco locations is required, with a goal of being in each office at least once every 2 weeks, and Cincinnati weekly.

Responsibilities:

  • Capitalize on the opportunity to continue to cross sell a large base of existing customers and create new customer relationships.
  • Drive the Silco security business line P&L and budget, go-to-market strategy, team selection & structure, and vendor & partner selection.
  • Demonstrate strong ability to increasing security recurring monthly revenue, security line of business revenue and EBITA.
  • Continue to improve team employee engagement scores, and OHSA total recordable incident rate.
  • Assist the company in reaching its financial goals and operational KPIs.
  • Collaborate with Leadership across the organization to drive new initiatives and programs.
  • Lead a management team who oversees technical resources including project managers, technicians, sales engineers, and outside sales representatives.
  • Identify and recommend go-to marketing strategies and services that will improve efficiency, processes, and operations.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure Silco’s offering is positioned for future success.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to help build strategic direction, execution frameworks, process automation and workflow enhancements and KPIs.
  • Provide executive-level oversight and direction to issues of security sales, operations, and other related tasks.
  • Promote a culture of continuous process improvement.
  • Establish a vision and strategy of security sales, and operations, in alignment with and to support organizational needs.
  • Maintain succession plans for critical positions and ensuring critical talent/skills are identified and in place to support organizational growth and needs.

While no individual will embody every quality, the successful candidate will bring many of the following professional qualifications and personal qualities:

Education and Certification/License Credentials

  • An undergraduate degree in business, management, or related field from an accredited university is preferred.
  • A master’s degree is a plus.

  • 10+ years proven leadership experience in the security integration business (or closely related) industry with full P&L responsibility, including responsibilities for both sales and operations.
