Job Description Level II
The Collin County Clerk is actively seeking candidates to fill the position of Deputy Clerk II in our criminal courts section. This position provides positive interaction with the public, judges and staff, and attorneys. This position will also be responsible for maintaining daily court dockets, providing assistance in the courtroom, processing and distributing a variety of documents including warrants, judgments and appeals, and issuing court dates. The successful candidate will have the ability to provide excellent customer service on the phone and in person to customers and attorneys, assist with researching files, answer general questions and answer phone calls.
Additional responsibilities include accurately entering case information into the Odyssey case management court system, processing daily mail, collecting and compiling court data, accurately maintaining electronic court data, accurately entering financial information including court costs, fines and fees, and sending required information to the Department of Public Safety for driver's license suspensions. This position will be expected to perform heavy data entry with a high level of accuracy.
Work requires strong knowledge of software applications including MS Windows 7 and MS Office 2010 or higher. Must have the ability to perform advanced data entry and scanning functions with strong accuracy and attention to detail, and must have strong customer service skills. Must possess strong organizational and communication skills and demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time. A broad knowledge of legal terminology and documents, and the court system is highly desired.
Must have level of education equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency and at least two years of work experience. The ability to pass a typing test with a rate of 50 WPM is required. Ability to pass a criminal background check is required.

This position requires that you pass a typing test at the minimum rate specified above.
