Position is responsible to respond to calls requiring security actions or assistance and alerts appropriate staff. Notifies officers of activity requiring security presence by providing a description of the nature and location of events on the property. Handles emergency and non-emergency calls from customers and employees. Logs all calls in the required format or system utilized by the department.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Be verse in computers, able to type, multitask and navigate through application programs used by the department.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and monitors in order to identify potential threats and disturbances from all areas in and around property.
- Answering phone calls from guests, departments and other entities, ensuring great guest service and responding officers to their needs.
- Analyze the severity of security threats or disturbances before contacting police, firefighters, or medical personnel, in order to ensure a speedy response.
- Track incoming emergency calls and dispatch aid according to need as well as record and document in our system.
- Monitoring radio calls and life safety systems during emergencies, coordinating communications among outside agencies and/or internal security for appropriate situations and a follow up to ensure that the situation is under control.
- Assess the potential threats from individuals who call in, and evaluate individual threats as high, medium, or low based on information gathered from callers.
- Responsible for assigning day to day job tasks to officers on the floor and area checks.
- Responsible to document all radio transmissions, including but not limited to, officer assigned job tasks, officers call for service, call-offs, breaks and lunches in the daily Itrak log.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age
- High school diploma (GED) or equivalent degree
- 3-5 years’ experience in a related field such as law enforcement, fire protection, public safety, military service, etc.
- Knowledgeable about computer systems
- Must have ability to work overtime hours if necessary
- Ability to pass drug test
- Must be able to lift/hold up objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Must be fluent in the English language in written and verbal form
- Must be efficient in multitasking
- Typing Skills – 35 WPM
- Must be energetic, have professional phone etiquette, positive attitude and able to work under stressful situations.
- Ability to acquire Gaming and Alcohol Awareness cards.
Working Conditions
- Prolonged sitting, reaching grasping. May be exposed to cold.
