UCR Health is establishing a float pool to provide coverage across our clinical enterprise. These employees will have the opportunity to work in different clinics and specialties on a per diem basis. This position performs medical, technical, and administrative support services to contribute to the efficient day-to-day operations, providing a positive patient experience.

Clinical duties may include:

  • Escorting patients to exam rooms
  • Taking and recording vital signs and medical histories
  • Preparing patients for examination
  • Assisting in procedures
  • Other duties as directed by physician

Administrative duties include:

  • Providing administrative support to the providers
  • Interacting with patients by scheduling appointments in tandem with provider availability
  • Responding to clinic phone calls
  • Greeting patients at check-in
  • Collecting patient information
  • Updating/maintaining electronic records
  • Verifying insurance
  • Handling visit payments
  • Ensuring clinic inventory for operation
  • Performing clerical tasks

This position will be primarily assigned to our clinics in Riverside, CA, but may also require floating to other UCR Health clinic locations.

Please Note: Per diem appointees may be scheduled on a pre-scheduled basis or as needed on a day-to-day basis or called off from a pre-established schedule as determined by the University and clinical operation needs. The full salary range for the Per Diem Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator is $28.35 per hour. Salary offers are based on education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, UCR cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. Compliance with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements is required.
