Facility Relocation Assistant

Description

A candidate for this position will be responsible for providing support for lab relocation, overseeing equipment inventory management and executing inventory reduction strategies. Projects will involve ensuring services to business units are uninterrupted throughout the relocation process, assisting with the logistics of the move, maintaining deadlines and tracking progress.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly and efficiently to inventory and data requests while performing routine facility maintenance tasks
• Collaborate with multiple organizations to ensure smooth operations
• Maintain an accurate inventory of laboratory equipment, chemicals, and consumables
• Conduct inspections of tools, equipment, and machines
• Identify items eligible for inventory reduction
• Proactively communicate project status, issues and risks to project stakeholders and escalate issues when appropriate
• Manage the tracking and reporting of key project success measures for scorecards as well as project metrics
• Prioritize tasks and respond to shifting priorities
• Update appropriate parties on project progress
• Ensure that tasks are completed on time
• Foster communication within project teams
  
  

Requirements

• High school diploma with vocational or job-related experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory management and/or project management
• Experience driving a forklift and able to obtain certification preferred
• Strong background in facility maintenance or management preferred
• Able to perform physicals tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly
• Able to handle multiple projects concurrently, self-motivated, and results driven
• Able to communicate effectively
  
  

This position will require good time management skills and a high level of independence after the training phase. Good organizational skills, record keeping and follow through will be integral to success.  The candidate will need to communicate effectively verbally and by e-mail.
