Located in the heart of Houston, Texas, TOPS Specialty Surgical Hospital is a premier surgical facility known for delivering outstanding care in a patient-first, collaborative environment. We’re currently seeking a per-diem OR Scheduler to join our team. This individual will play a vital role in ensuring seamless coordination of surgical cases and supporting efficient daily operations in the OR.

What You’ll Do:

  • Schedule surgical procedures in coordination with physicians’ offices, OR staff, and pre-op teams
  • Verify surgery times, patient information, required equipment, and case-specific needs
  • Monitor and manage OR block time and ensure optimal utilization of operating rooms
  • Confirm accurate documentation and obtain necessary pre-op clearances
  • Communicate updates and changes promptly to all impacted departments
  • Maintain the surgery schedule in the hospital’s EMR and scheduling systems
  • Provide outstanding service to patients, physicians, and clinical staff in a fast-paced setting

Required Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in surgical scheduling preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT/ICD-10 codes, and surgical procedures
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and scheduling software (e.g., Cerner, Epic, SIS)
  • Previous experience in a hospital, surgical center, or physician office setting preferred
