Temporary Classroom Support Technician

Essential Job Duties

The job of Classroom Support Technician under general supervision performs a wide variety of moderately difficult media/production tasks in a fast-paced, time-sensitive educational environment. These include on-site support for distance learning classrooms in multiple buildings/classrooms spread across both campuses, capturing and/or streaming live on-campus classes, assisting faculty with computer applications immediately during live lecture capture classes, and ensuring faculty has all that is necessary to teach both the face-to-face class and to effectively capture the class for online distance education viewing and instruction; performs other job-related duties as required.

• Assists/instructs faculty and personnel in basic operations of classroom technologies, digital media applications, SMART boards, and computer equipment.
• Provides support for internal/external circulation of specific technology equipment.
• Travel between multiple buildings/classrooms across both campuses.
• On-call to support all classrooms, when needed, during assigned shifts
• Performs general tasks as assigned in classroom and control room environments including cleaning student desks and lecterns, instructional equipment, resetting student chairs before and after classes, and vacuuming floors.
• Promotes a professional image while assisting with classroom support.
• Performs other digital media/production work as assigned or necessary on a relief basis.
• Maintain excellent customer service skills.
• Must have the ability to work independently and be able to respond quickly to the technical needs of faculty.
• Deliver/stock supplies for classrooms.
• Perform routine cleaning of classrooms.
• Assist with video conferencing as needed.
• Provide administrative and office support.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
