Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • Experience developing software applications using the C++ programming language.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming, templates, and the Standard Template Library.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in managing high performance team.
  • Experience in software development using a general-purpose programming language such as C++, though experience with C, Java, Python, JavaScript, or Go is acceptable if C++ skills have been acquired through other channels.

We are looking for an engineering leader to architect and deliver the next-generation of Infra Data eXchange (IDX) , enhancing reliability, scalability, and efficiency of IDX infrastructure.

In this role, you will be a technical leader capable of guiding a high-performing team to solve complex infrastructure challenges.

As an Engineering Manager in IDX, you will provide engineering and management leadership owning the mission, direction and roadmap of the team.

The ML, Systems & Cloud AI (MSCA) organization at Google designs, implements, and manages the hardware, software, machine learning, and systems infrastructure for all Google services (Search, YouTube, etc.) and Google Cloud. Our end users are Googlers, Cloud customers and the billions of people who use Google services around the world.

We prioritize security, efficiency, and reliability across everything we do - from developing our latest TPUs to running a global network, while driving towards shaping the future of hyperscale computing. Our global impact spans software and hardware, including Google Cloud’s Vertex AI, the leading AI platform for bringing Gemini models to enterprise customers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the team's mission, direction, and roadmap, aligning with broader organizational goals.
  • Lead project execution, from scoping to production deployment, managing risks and communicating progress to stakeholders.
  • Drive technical direction and system design, ensuring alignment within the broader ecosystem.
  • Identify and address gaps in reliability, scalability, and efficiency, delivering the next generation of IDX working with Leads.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering their growth and productivity.
