Position Description
Responsible for managing the overall leadership and management of the facility, ensuring the highest quality of care and services for residents. This role includes overseeing daily operations, financial management, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning. The Independent Living Manager must be a visionary leader with a passion for senior care, excellent communication skills, and strong business acumen.

This role includes overseeing daily operations, financial management, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning. The Independent Living Manager must be a visionary leader with a passion for senior care, excellent communication skills, and strong business acumen.
Principle Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Independent Living facility, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure the long-term success of the facility. Foster a positive and inclusive culture that promotes high-quality care and resident satisfaction.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. Implement and monitor policies and procedures to maintain compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Ensure the facility is well-maintained, safe, and conducive to the well-being of residents.
- Develop and manage the facility’s budget, ensuring financial health and sustainability. Monitor financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability. Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancements.
- Develop and execute strategies to maintain and increase occupancy rates (census). Build relationships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and potential residents and families to promote the facility. Participate in marketing and outreach efforts, including events and community engagement activities. Monitor market trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and community partners. Collaborate with campus administrators to support shared programs and events.
- Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate staff to ensure high performance and job satisfaction. Promote ongoing education and professional development opportunities for all staff members. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, nursing, or a related field, preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of management experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in assisted living or long-term care.
- Experience in a campus setting that includes various levels of care (e.g., Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing).
- Experience in staff supervision, training, and development.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in senior care.
- Proficiency in financial management and budget preparation.
