There are more than 400 certified providers, both volunteer and career, who respond to more than 53,000 emergency calls on a yearly basis.
As a Business Applications Specialist I you will:
- Develop and maintain databases, manage user information, and provide user support and training for all software systems.
- Maintain inventory management system in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Monitor inventory levels, identify data trends for use and expiration, and build supply orders.
- Track and manage biomedical equipment and serve as main liaison with staff for the assigned applications.
- Work directly with vendors on system, issues, and updates.
- Perform user testing and serve as main contact for troubleshooting issues.
- Manage radio and communication devices for the department, prefer experience with Motorola products.
- Reconcile inventory counts at warehouse and stations for replenishment of supplies to maintain operational readiness.
- System Administrator and System Support for all EMS training software.

Minimum Requirements:
MINIMUMS: Any combination of education (above high school), training, and/or experience equivalent to four (4) years in a field related to functional support for automated business operations in a network or server-based environment for the agency where the IT services are being used, utilizing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. May be required to have or obtain a valid driver's license. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
Preferences: In addition to the minimum requirements, the ideal candidate for this position will have experience listed in the preferences below. Candidates with the preferred experience should ensure the information is provided on the application. Experience with database development and maintenance. Experience providing end user support. Experience working with radio and communication systems (Motorola). Experience providing software training. Experience with medical supply inventory and asset control. Experience with a 911 pre-hospital EMS agency. Experience working with public safety software programs.

VRS Contribution: All full-time employees are required to contribute 5% of annual salary toward their retirement account; in accordance with VRS retirement provisions. This will be handled through a pre-tax payroll deduction.
