Position Overview:

Reporting to the CFO, the Manger, Case Management has overall responsibility for operational management of the hospital Case Management Department, including staffing, budgets and strategic planning related to coordination of clinical care.

Essential Functions include but not limited to:

  • Coordination of Clinical Care – Including medical necessity, appropriateness of care and resource utilization for admission, continued stay, discharge and post-acute care as compared to evidenced-based practice, internal and external requirements.
  • Identify and report variances in appropriateness of medical care provided, over/under utilization of resources compared to evidenced-based practice and external requirements. This priority includes work with relevant software and communicating information through clear, complete and concise documentation in EMR.
  • Effective collaboration with physicians, nurses, ancillary staff, payors, patients and families to achieve optimum clinical outcomes.
  • Remain current with relevant clinical / case management practices.
  • Manage all daily operational oversight and supervision of departmental staff.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree through a formal 4-year program, BSN preferred.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or holds a multi-state nursing license; or able to obtain license prior to start is required.
  • 5 years of Management/Clinical experience with at least 3 years relevant case management experience.
  • CCM preferred. EPIC experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of Clinical data interface, InterQual, Case Management documentation, secure faxing, Avoidable Day tracking.
