- Minimum 3-5 Years of progressive experience as an overall machinist operator
- 3-5 Years of experience operating a mill and lathe performing lathe and milling machining operations to exacting specifications, working from blueprints, engineering diagrams, part lists and schedules.
- High School Diploma (Associates Preferred)
- Able to work 40 hours a week
- This position reports to the Manufacturing Manager.
- Perform lathe and milling machining operations using blueprints and related diagrams.
- Use grinders, metal saws and general machine shop equipment.
- Perform quality checks and quality control on your own work, and that of others using appropriate instruments (micrometers, etc.).
- Update drawings (mark prints, etc.) when identifying corrections from issued blueprints.
- Interact with and provide feedback to engineering department personnel on design or updates.
- Develop basic system skills in MRP and for checking parts in engineering software programs (Anvil/SolidWorks).
- Participate in a Process of Ongoing Improvement. Identify areas or processes that help improve the operation of the Machine Shop and the Company’s responsiveness to customers.
- Adhere to and implement the ISO QMS.
- Adhere to and follow Company policies and safety regulations.
- Perform QA functions and other duties as assigned.
- Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
- Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Train and assist other employees in the Company.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Controls and Instrumentation, Equipment Maintenance, Manufacturing Experience, Manufacturing Quality, Mechanical Inspection Tools, Tooling, Safety Management, Quality Focus, Power Tools, Judgment, Decision Making.
- Experience operating a mill and lathe, machining parts to specifications from blueprints.
- Ability to operate a vertical mill.
- Ability to work effectively with and support others.
- Basic computer skills desirable.
- CNC knowledge and skills highly desirable.
