What We’re Looking For

Are you passionate about developing people and raising industry standards through education? We’re seeking an experienced and strategic Director, Education & Development to manage learning and development initiatives. In this role, you’ll design and deliver training programs that support community managers, board members, and staff—ensuring they have the knowledge, tools, and confidence to serve their communities effectively. If you’re a leader who understands the unique dynamics of homeowner associations and thrives on creating a culture of continuous improvement, this might be the role for you. The ideal candidate understands the unique regulatory, operational, and customer service dynamics of HOAs and has a passion for building high-impact learning experiences that drive performance and engagement.

Some Of The Key Tasks

  • Training Strategy & Program Development
  • Design and implement a comprehensive training strategy aligned with business goals and HOA compliance requirements.
  • Develop and deliver training virtual and live programs for onboarding, committee, homeowner, board education, and continuing education for community management team members and that meets contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to identify skill gaps and design targeted learning solutions.
  • Serve as Brand representative by participating in CAI events/conferences as a speaker.
  • Instructional Design & Delivery
  • Create and maintain engaging training content using various delivery methods including in-person, virtual, e-learning, and blended formats.
  • Oversee the development or curation of manuals, guides, videos, and online courses specific to Seabreeze operations and compliance.
  • Serve as a lead facilitator and coach for key sessions, such as onboarding training
  • Maintain a roster of key external trainers for CM/GM Essentials and training events.
  • Compliance & Professional Standards
  • Ensure training programs support state regulatory requirements (e.g., CAM licensing) and promote HOA industry best practices.
  • Must stay current and knowledgeable on CA legislation and governmental codes. Similarly, maintain knowledge of changes in laws and governance practices in states where Seabreeze is conducting business.
  • Stay informed of industry trends to keep training content current.
  • Evaluation & Reporting
  • Implement methods to assess training effectiveness, retention, and ROI.
  • Regularly report on training participation, outcomes, and performance improvements to leadership.
  • Collect feedback and continuously improve training content and delivery.
  • Oversee the accurate reporting of the company spend on certifications, courses and exam fees.
  • Perform other job duties as necessary

Requirements

Experience & Skills

  • Certification in training, instructional design or at least 10 years of progressive experience in the HOA industry; Director level highly desirable
  • CMCA designation, AMS preferred
  • Strong knowledge of HOA operations, compliance and governance
  • Proficiency with LMS platforms and training tools (e.g. Zoom, Teams, etc.)
  • Outstanding internal and external communication skills
  • Project completionist with an eye for details
  • Extremely organized and embraces a new challenge every day
  • Proven ability to lead strategic training initiatives
  • Effective organizational and time-management skills.
  • Familiarity with CINC and possess the ability to learn and train on new technology that drives usage adoption quickly.

Availability

Travel – ability to travel extensively (60% or greater) with in-person presence within the region for up to weeks at a time. Regular business hours and after regular business hours, as necessary.
