
Job Description
The Assistant Used Car Manager will support the Used Car Manager in overseeing all aspects of the used car department. This role involves evaluating and appraising trade-in vehicles, understanding vehicle reconditioning processes, and managing inventory. The successful candidate will also coach sales staff, work closely with the service department, and contribute to the acquisition and marketing of used vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Appraisal and Evaluation:
- Assess and appraise customer trade-in vehicles to determine their value.
- Be flexible and work with sales managers to find ways to close more sales.
- Develop expertise with tools such as vAuto, MMR & Kelly Blue Book ICO to help determine values and stay informed on market trends.
- Reconditioning & Detail Oversight:
- Oversee the reconditioning process for used cars to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Reconditioning & Detail departments to address and resolve any issues.
- Wholesale Market Knowledge:
- Stay informed about the used vehicle wholesale market and trends.
- Inventory Management:
- Manage and track the used vehicle inventory to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Analyze sales data and market trends to make informed inventory decisions.
- Sales Coaching and Support:
- Coach and support salespeople to enhance their ability to acquire more trade-in vehicles from customers.
- Provide training and guidance on best practices for selling used vehicles.
- Customer Relations:
- Work with the service department to maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns related to used vehicles and their reconditioning.
- Vehicle Acquisition and Marketing:
- Assist in acquiring used vehicles through various channels, including auctions and wholesale sources.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote used vehicles and drive sales.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle acquisitions, sales, and inventory.
- Prepare reports and analyses as needed for management review.

Asst. Used Car Manager
The Assistant Used Car Manager will need to be available to work Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and occasional weekends.
Our Sales department is open 7 days a week: Monday - Saturday 9:00 am - 6:00 pm, Sunday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Our sales team must be available to work holidays. The sales department is closed New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, July 4th, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
