Position Purpose and Objectives
The Home Equity Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the Home Equity Processing Team, ensuring timely loan processing and adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and applicable federal and state regulations. This role focuses on fostering collaboration and member satisfaction while driving operational performance and funding results. The manager works closely with the Home Equity Sales Manager to meet and exceed establish goals, optimize production, and expedite loan funding processes. Provides strong leadership and clear direction to department staff and upholds compliance with the SAFE Act through active MLO registration via the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry. This position requires exceptional leadership skills, regulatory expertise, and the ability to manage deadlines effectively while maintaining composure under pressure in a team-oriented, results-driven environment.

Strong computer and technology skills.
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of mortgage related experience along with a minimum of 2 years of progressive supervisory experience.

Team Leadership
- Oversee and guide the Home Equity Operations team to ensure consistent performance and adherence to company standards.
- Foster a positive work environment, encourage professional development, and mentor team members to achieve their career goals.
- Set clear expectations, manage workloads, drive production, and provide guidance and training to foster professional growth.
- Develop and maintain a high performing team, with low attrition and high morale.
- Ensure day-to-day operations related to home equity loans and processes run smoothly and efficiently.
- Monitor adherence to company policies, compliance requirements, and industry regulations.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to optimize workflow efficiency.
- Assists with researching information for special projects that involve real estate loan operations.
- Handles member escalations pertaining to the delivery of real estate loan services.
- Lead and monitor Home Equity Loan production by actively overseeing the entire process from the receipt of Early Disclosures to Funding, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Drive performance excellence by ensuring the team consistently meets and exceeds volume targets and deadlines, reflecting a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
- Maintain a seamless and efficient workflow for active Home Equity deals, ensuring timely progression through each stage of the process to avoid bottlenecks.
- Identify and address delays or challenges with urgency, mitigating risks to ensure deadlines and production goals are met without compromising compliance.
- Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement to enhance operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement new strategies, tools, or technologies to streamline the Home Equity Loan lifecycle.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure process changes align with organizational goals and member satisfaction.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with Home Equity loan processing and servicing.
- Establish internal controls to reduce errors and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.
- Ensure loans are audited for accuracy, timely filing of legal documents, scanning files into the OnBase system and appropriate original documents are placed in the vault for safe keeping.
- Ensures HMDA (Home Mortgage Disclosure Act) duties and requirements are performed by real estate staff.
- Prepare and present reports on key performance metrics, operational insights, and team achievements.
- Use analytics to forecast trends, improve decision-making, and address areas requiring attention.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes and internal evaluations.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Underwriting, compliance, and Home Equity Sales, to improve overall outcomes.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure alignment between operational strategies and business objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to optimize service delivery.
