What You'll Do

The Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) at Harbour Manor Health Living plays a crucial role in ensuring that residents receive nutritious and well-balanced meals that cater to their dietary needs. This position involves overseeing the dietary department, managing food service operations, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The CDM will collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized meal plans that support the health and well-being of residents. Additionally, the role requires effective management of kitchen staff, budgeting for food services, and maintaining inventory levels. Ultimately, the CDM is responsible for creating a positive dining experience that enhances the quality of life for all residents.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement dietary plans in accordance with residents’ health needs and preferences.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and ensure that all food preparation meets safety and sanitation standards.
  • Manage food service operations, including budgeting, inventory management, and procurement of supplies.
  • Conduct regular assessments of residents’ dietary needs and adjust meal plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure that dietary services align with overall resident care.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Certification as a Dietary Manager (CDM) from an accredited program.
  • Experience in food service management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of nutrition and dietary guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
  • Experience working with elderly populations or in long-term care facilities.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
