Compensation & Schedule
- Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000 annually
- Schedule: Full-time, on-site
- Location: New Rochelle, NY
Procurement Activities
- Source and purchase raw materials and services for the Safety Division
- Process and track purchase orders through company systems
- Negotiate with vendors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards
- Resolve discrepancies in orders, pricing, and deliveries
- Maintain vendor documentation and ensure certification compliance
- Create and maintain comprehensive digital records of all purchasing activities
- Document vendor interactions, quotes, and agreements
- Track works in progress through procurement and delivery stages
- Update inventory records as materials are received
- Maintain historical purchasing data for reference and analysis
- Assist with material requirements planning in collaboration with supervisors
- Support capacity planning processes to ensure production capabilities meet demand
- Coordinate just-in-time manufacturing processes to optimize inventory levels
- Schedule deliveries to align with production schedules
- Anticipate material needs based on production forecasts
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Evaluate vendor performance regarding quality, cost, and delivery
- Expedite orders when necessary to prevent production delays
- Develop contingency plans for potential supply chain disruptions
- Conduct regular communications with vendors regarding upcoming needs
- Inform sales and shipping coordinators about material availability
- Communicate delivery timelines to production teams
- Alert management to significant cost fluctuations in raw materials
- Produce regular procurement status reports
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings to coordinate activities
Education and Experience
One Of The Following Combinations Is Required
- No degree with 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience
- Associate's degree with 2+ years of purchasing or procurement experience
- Bachelor's degree with 1+ years of purchasing or procurement experience
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office suite
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Basic mathematical and analytical capabilities
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems
- Certification in supply chain management (CSCP, CPSM, or similar)
- Ability to work at a computer workstation for extended periods
- Occasional walking through manufacturing, warehouse areas to coordinate with production teams
- Periodic lifting of objects up to 10 pounds (office supplies, files)
- May require occasional travel to vendor locations or other company facilities
