Technical Operations Center Technician

KPIX has an immediate opening for a Technical Operations Center (TOC) Technician. The (TOC) Technician is responsible for working as a team with editorial staff and field crews in acquiring, routing and operating equipment for the KPIX News operation!

JOB FUNCTION:

• Proven knowledge of RF principles (Microwave and Satellite tuning)
• DENG & DSNG truck operation skills a plus!
• Safely operate news gathering equipment
• Knowledge of Cellular Bonding systems (Dejero, LiveU)
• Schedule and record live feeds
• Edit content quickly and accurately
• Make decisive technical choices in demanding situations

REQUIRED:

• Excellent computer skills
• Skill in adapting to a rapidly changing atmosphere
• Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills
• Strong work ethic, positive & leadership qualities, prioritize multiple tasks
• Excellent people and communication skills
• Good conflict resolution and problem-solving skills

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $52,050.96 - 81,181.98. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
