SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Passengers will be assisted in the movement of their personal luggage or parcels within this station or station facilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide wheelchair service for disabled and/or handicapped passengers
- Provide arm assistance to blind individuals to and from the trains
- Conversant with the procedure governing the issuance of Red Cap Check NRPC Form 313
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Employee must conform to Amtrak’s Standards of Excellence and prescribed code of dress
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be fully capable of operating commercial vehicles and mechanized equipment
- Must have a valid Driver's license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Two (2) years of college or business equivalent
- Two (2) years’ experience in a service-oriented position
COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
The hourly range is $18.89 - $25.18 (with opportunity for increases, as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement, after beginning employment).
