Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in athletic training, exercise science or closely related field and two years of post-baccalaureate athletic training experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. NATA and NATABOC Athletic Trainer certification required. Eligible for Kentucky state licensure. First Aid and CPR/AED Certifications. Knowledge of NCAA and ACC rules and regulations. Ability to travel and work hours on nights, weekends, and holidays. Grade 6E (Salary)

Position Description:

The University of Louisville Athletic Department is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to assist in the daily operations of the athletic training room and provide multifaceted healthcare to football student-athletes.

The Assistant Athletic Trainer will work in collaboration with other members of the training team to provide comprehensive healthcare to Football student-athletes and perform a wide range of clinical athletic training functions to include assisting with daily operations in the athletic training room, assessing athletic injuries, and implementing preventive and rehabilitation programs to treat injuries. Additionally, the Assistant Athletic Trainer will advise student-athletes on injury prevention and how to maintain their physical condition.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide healthcare services to Football student-athletes, including but not limited to: injury prevention and evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation, practice/event coverage, physician referral, and medical appointments.
  • Assist with the maintenance and organization of the student-athlete's medical files for the Football program.
  • Establish and comply with a line of communication to team physicians, coaches, student-athletes, EMTs, and parents (when applicable).
  • Assist with the maintenance of athletic training equipment, monitor inventory, and assist with the preparation of budget requests.
  • Assist in the supervision and recruitment of undergraduate student athletic trainers.
  • Assist with the coordination of federal work-study students in the athletic training room.
  • Remain current with all national and state certifications and licensure and follow the NATA code of ethics, including annual CEU opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletic Trainer or Director of Sports Medicine for the Football Program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) Years of experience with a Division I Intercollegiate Football program and/or NFL experience.

Target Compensation Maximum: $77,600.00

Target Compensation Minimum: $51,700.00

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
