Description

People Incorporated Mental Health Services is seeking an Adjunct Instructor to join our Training Institute team. Adjunct instructors teach classes as needed from the Training Institute curriculum in topics in which they have experience and expertise. Classes fall into four broad categories: Core skills; Clinical; Leadership; Children and Youth.

Schedule: Instructor assignments are scheduled as needed and are not guaranteed.

Location: Remote and In-Person (Ames Office in Eagan)

Hiring Range: Both exempt and non-exempt staff will receive their current hourly wage or salary, plus a negotiated stipend depending on the class length and complexity of the class content.

Main Job Duties

  • Delivers training on training courses from the Training Institute portfolio of classes in areas of interest and expertise as determined by the Training Institute Director.
  • Stays up to date on participant-led, instructor facilitated learning modalities and training styles.
  • Has a high level of comfort with in-classroom and online remote learner platforms and processes.
  • Uses PowerPoint, other presentation media, and Smart Board technology with a high level of skill and performance.
  • Works with curriculum that is continually being improved and developed. May create customized curriculum for new classes, under the direction and pre-approval of the Training Institute Director.
  • Works with the Training Institute Account Manager to prepare the physical or virtual room for training sessions.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position

Applications will be reviewed by the Training Institute Director when a need for an adjunct instructor occurs, and the Director will reach out directly to selected applicants to discuss adjunct opportunities as well as confirming the applicant’s eligibility for an adjunct position with the applicant’s supervisor and Human Resources.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Behavioral Health or related field
  • Subject matter expertise in behavior health training topics through education or lived experience
  • Demonstrated success in conducting trainings or workshops with adults from varied background, using a variety of teaching strategies and content delivery methods
  • Current People Incorporated employee in good standing
  • Approval of direct supervisor

Preferred Education And Experience

  • Professional licensure in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or clinical counseling
  • Prior work experience with teaching or training as a primary function of the position
