Description

Responsibilities

  • Schedule patients for surgeries and other procedures that can be done in the office
  • Verify insurance and pre-certify
  • Surgeries
  • Back/Hip Injections
  • Epidural Spine Injections
  • Check pre-cert for Synvisc/Monovisc/Euflexxa injections
  • Communicate with hospital about date, time and other information for the surgeries
  • Submit orders to hospital
  • Set-up post-op appointments and send out preoperative letters to the patient regarding surgery
  • Notify PCP/Cardiologist of surgery
  • Prepare charts for surgeries
  • Scan Surgery CD's
  • Submit referral request for Advocate HMO
  • OOT & PT
  • DME
  • Diagnostic testing
  • Surgeries
  • Submit to Workers Compensation for Surgeries, EMG and Synvisc/Monovisc/Euflexxa injections
  • Set up Rep meetings/luncheons
  • Coordinate dates, payments and paperwork for attorney meetings and depositions

Physical Demands

  • Required to sit; use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • Required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Requirements

Qualifications/Education and/or Experience

  • High School" diploma or general education degree (GED); or at least one year medical office experience, preferably with electronic medical records
  • Knowledge in medical terminology
  • Ability to handle highly confidential, sensitive and non-routine information
  • Basic computer skills and medical records experience
  • Must be able to type words and numbers quickly and accurately
  • Must comply with HIPAA confidentiality standards when accessing or communicating patient information

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
