Description

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist manages the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource office, performing a variety of functions including personnel resource management, benefits administration, compliance, employee relations and the administration of the policies, procedures, and programs.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of recruiting including posting openings, applicant management and screening, facilitates interviews, develops compensation profiles, and managing all preemployment screenings.
  • Maintains personnel records.
  • Engages and maintains relationships with contract agencies for obtaining temporal staff.
  • Oversees timecard submission, approvals, and audits for accuracy and compliance.
  • Processes bi-weekly payroll; partnering with contracts administration and accounting to ensure accurate processing and transmit reporting for reconciliation.
  • Completes the onboarding and termination of personnel.
  • Collaborates with department managers and executive leadership to analyze staffing needs.
  • Participates in all facets of employee relations including training, compliance, disciplinary action, performance, development, and company-sponsored programs.
  • Manages the annual performance review process and compiles data for Compensation Committee.
  • Maintains compensation database; participating in ongoing review and providing recommendations to executive leadership for new position or location development.
  • Manages all training records including incoming requests and approvals and maintains the training tracker; ensuring ongoing compliance and supports in coordinating course enrollment.
  • Processes all employment verifications, unemployment claims, wage garnishments, etc.
  • Manages technology resource distribution and compliance.
  • Partners with department managers and executive management to develop, maintain, and communicate a variety of company policies and procedures.
  • Cooperates with third-party benefit providers, including recommending changes in benefit offerings, and manages benefit administration.
  • Conducts benefit orientation for personnel and supports open enrollment, Qualifying Life Event changes, and new hire enrollments.
  • Partners with executive leadership on succession planning, workforce development, employee retention, organization design, and change management.
  • Supports accounting department with the administration of Motus, Concur, and employee AMEX programs, ensuring compliance with all policies.
  • Serves as primary and/or secondary source of internal communication.
  • Upholds the highest level of confidentiality while handling all assignments and correspondence.
  • Serves as back up to the Office Manager as needed.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned by the Office Manager.

Requirements

  • Above average oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information
  • Excellent computer and database skills; including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly and reprioritize effectively

Education And Experience

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree or equivalent Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent
  • 3-5+ years previous experience in Recruiting or HR Administration

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Travel

Travel may be required for this position, less than 5%. Most travel is primarily local and completed during the business day, however, some extended out-of-state or overnight travel may be required.
