Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled RN Risk, Safety, and Compliance Manager to join our team.
The RN Risk, Safety, and Compliance Manager will be responsible for overseeing risk management, clinic safety, and regulatory compliance requirements for EngageMED’s clients.
This individual will ensure each clinic meets regulatory standards, implements effective safety protocols, and mitigates risk to patients, staff, and visitors.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of clinical risks, including patient safety, operational processes, and clinical care.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to minimize liability and improve patient outcomes.
- Investigate and analyze patient safety incidents, including adverse events and near misses. Conduct root cause analysis and work to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with clinic leadership to ensure appropriate reporting and documentation of incidents, adverse events, and complaints.
- Design and oversee staff training on risk management policies and procedures, including reporting mechanisms for potential risks.
- Monitor risk indicators and analyze trends to inform proactive strategies and ensure a culture of safety.
- Educate clinical coworkers on proper event reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, standards, and guidelines (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, Joint Commission, etc.).
- Introduce a Fair and Just Culture program for clinics.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure clinics maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures related to infection control, hazardous materials, emergency preparedness, and general workplace safety.
- Work closely with the clinic leadership to ensure that staff are properly trained in safety protocols, emergency procedures, and incident response.
- Monitor and report on safety performance metrics and compliance with applicable safety regulations.
- Serve as the clinic system’s point of contact for regulatory agencies and ensure timely response to regulatory inspections or audits.
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and other departments to foster a culture of safety and compliance within the clinic system.
- Assist in the development of safety and quality improvement initiatives and provide oversight to ensure effective implementation.
- Advocate for patient and staff safety in all aspects of clinic operations, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required.
- Arkansas Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Certification in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) or Safety Management (preferred or to be obtained within one year).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in an outpatient or healthcare setting.
- Proven experience in risk management, safety compliance, or quality improvement, preferably within an outpatient or clinical
- Proficiency with healthcare regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, Joint Commission, HIPAA, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks and propose practical solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of patient safety protocols and compliance requirements.
- Ability to lead and motivate others while ensuring accountability to safety and risk standards.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations and effectively manage crisis situations.
- This position will be based at the EngageMED corporate office with regular travel between clinic locations as necessary.
- Team player - possess a positive attitude and demonstrates honesty and integrity in all endeavors.
- Ability to understand, apply and analyze financial data.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to self-start and work independently or as part of a diverse team.
- Detail oriented and organized with the ability to easily identify areas that require improvement.
