The Support Specialist I will work under general supervision to manage and audit campus-wide key inventory. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate, detailed records and performing related administrative duties for the Key Shop.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts and maintains departmental key inventory for the entire campus to help maintain campus-wide security.
  • Effectively communicates with all departments and varied position levels on campus regarding key inventory issues.
  • Recommends corrective action for issues discovered through audit procedures and follow-up to verify that those recommended corrections are enacted.
  • Gather and maintains accurate data to compare with Key Control key tracking software, university key holder files, and campus wide audit findings.
  • Inspects campus-wide key request records and ensures accuracy by verifying that the persons who were issued keys are still employed at UTA, still authorized to receive certain keys, and still have the issued keys in their possession.
  • Ensures the keys have been collected from employees who have transferred to other positions, resigned, retired, or have been terminated.
  • Responsible for producing annual audit report.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma with six (6) months of clerical experience.
  • Extreme accuracy required in the maintenance of inventory, key audits, and other related records.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Must have a current Texas Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One to three (1-3) years of clerical experience.
  • Working (intermediate-level) knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
