Adaptive Softball Coaches and Runners

CCRI (Creative Care for Reaching Independence)

Date: 1 day ago
City: Moorhead, Minnesota
Contract type: Full time
CCRI is a Moorhead-based nonprofit organization that began in 1977 when a group of parents wanted more for their children than institutionalized care. What started as one home serving eight people with disabilities in a community-based setting has grown into an agency serving more than 400 people through a variety of person-centered programs. CCRI empowers those with disabilities to

  • Live more independently.
  • Build life skills.
  • Participate more in the community.
  • Have new experiences.
  • Reach their full potential.

From 24-hour in-home support to rehabilitative mental health care, our services are as unique as each of the people we serve.

,

Every summer, CCRI runs an adaptive softball league that breaks down barriers for people with disabilities to compete in this sport. Our Volunteer Coaches and Runners make this possible!

Coaches and Runners do not need to have experience with coaching or softball, they just need a positive attitude and some comfortable shoes!

Each of our teams has multiple Volunteer Coaches that work together to support and encourage athletes during games. Volunteer Runners help by running bases for athletes who are unable to run themselves, or help push wheelchairs for players who need help getting around the bases.

We are looking for volunteers who are able to commit to all 6 Sundays of the summer season, from 6-7 30p.

If you or your volunteer group are willing to help, please complete a volunteer application on our website ( Volunteer | CCRI) and note that you'd like to be a Coach or Runner for softball.

Thank you for helping our athletes hit it out of the park this summer!
