SUMMARY:

The Massage Therapist is responsible for performing massages and body treatments on guests in a professional and courteous manner and is able to give professional recommendations of products and additional services to guests based on client needs. Provides a clean and safe spa experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include The Following

  • Provides guests with a thorough and knowledgeable professional massage or body treatment.
  • Responsible for professional recommendations of products, devices or additional services to guests.
  • Demonstrates respect, sensitivity, and concern for guests' needs with a professional and pleasant manner Completes out post-treatment recommendation forms
  • Completes post-treatment recommendation forms
  • Willingness to perform body wraps, scrubs, or other services that do not include massage services.
  • Refers guest problems or complaints to supervisor
  • Interacts cooperatively and with consideration towards guests and co-workers.
  • Adheres to Four Winds Casinos standards for guest service
  • Practices universal health care protocol while dealing with guests and coworkers.
  • Responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the treatment room(s) they will occupy throughout the day.
  • Secures department upon nightly closing.
  • Sets up and breaks down assigned massage room or body treatment room; maintains neat and well-stocked room with products, supplies, clean linen and equipment.
  • Completes and submits necessary paperwork, checks emails and other communication vehicles and reads posted notices from hotel or management.
  • Participates in continuing education as dictated by law.
  • Performs duties assigned by the Spa Manager when not performing services, including periodic checks of the locker rooms

Qualification Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

Must possess a valid State Massage License and possess a valid State Massage Therapist’s license with the minimum required States training hours.

Special Qualifications

Must be able to interact positively and professionally with a variety of people. Should understand the market and how to interact with sensitivity to guest needs. Must possess a positive and cooperative attitude, exercising reason.

Must be able to perform a 50-minute and 80-minute comprehensive Swedish or deep tissue massage and two other modalities, using professional draping techniques; additional knowledge of other techniques is preferable

This position requires a LEVEL 4 Gaming License.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is also regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, also will be required to regularly push, pull, and bend. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee is regularly exposed to risk of exposure to cleaning and other chemicals used for services and in the maintenance of the property. Wrist support splints available for resting. Masks, gloves and other safety items are available.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. A casino environment is typically smoky.
