Position Summary: The Grant Coordinator plays a key role in prospecting and identifying new funders, coordinating and executing the grant submission process, crafting impact reports, maintaining accurate records, and supporting funder engagement to help meet Orangewood Foundation’s fundraising goals.

Requirements
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Primarily responsible for increasing and diversifying grants revenue by assisting with prospect research and identifying opportunities to cultivate current grantmaking partnerships.
- Draft impact reports in alignment with funder requirements, using tools such as Canva to create visually compelling reports, and package complete grant reports, proposals, and letters of inquiry for submission.
- Track and maintain accurate records of grant submissions, awards, deadlines, and reporting requirements using Raiser’s Edge and internal systems.
- Draft donor correspondence such as thank-you letters and email inquiries; assist in scheduling funder meetings and coordinating site visits.
- Assist with refining boilerplate content, developing supporting documents, and compiling attachments for grant applications and reports.
- Attend grant workshops, funder webinars, and related events to stay informed on grant opportunities and best practices.
- Demonstrate a desire to grow as a grant writer and fundraising professional through on-the-job learning and collaboration.
- Effectively support the Manager in grant planning meetings with internal stakeholders such as Program, Finance, Development, and Data staff/teams.
- Proactively work with Finance and Program Departments to gather and analyze organizational, financial, budgetary, and programmatic information necessary for grant submissions and reports.
- Support Manager with creating budgets that meet funder requirements and align with Orangewood’s fundraising and accounting practices.
- Participate in regular team, supervisory, and partner meetings.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skill, and Experience Requirements:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., English, Communications, Journalism, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration)
- 2 years of experience in nonprofit development, grant writing, or administrative support preferred.
- Strong written communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and highly organized.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines through self-direction.
- Collaborative and proactive team player with a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Eagerness to enhance grant writing skills and grow professionally within a supportive team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems such as Raiser’s Edge and Instrumentl preferred.
- Interest in building and maintaining positive relationships with both internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to handle sensitive donor and client information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Familiarity with Orangewood’s mission and programs, and a professional understanding of fundraising objectives.
- Valid California driver’s license, automobile insurance, and DMV clearance required.
- Pre-employment screenings include criminal background check, fingerprinting (FBI/DOJ), TB test, drug screening, and employment verification.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
- Hybrid role with requirement for in-person attendance as needed. Occasional driving to meetings/trainings. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, typing, bending and potentially lifting up to approximately 25 lbs.
- Modification to work schedule may be made based on the needs of the Foundation.
