Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care within your scope, following the treatment plan.
- Assist in implementing speech therapy plans under SLP supervision.
- Monitor and document patient progress and response to treatment.
- Educate patients/clients and caregivers as needed.
- Complete visit documentation, including progress and clinical notes, promptly.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and the healthcare team.
- Meet continuing education requirements and participate in in-service training.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant payor requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Graduate from a school of Speech Language Pathology Assistant with a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) with an emphasis in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology.
- Current Texas State License as an SLPA
- CPR Certification
- Recent work experience in Home Health (preferred)
- 2 years experience as an SLPA in an acute care or rehabilitation setting
- Drivers License (required)
- Car Insurance & registration (required)
- Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, exercises, and tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to observe, document, and report patient progress accurately.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and therapy plans.
- Strong clinical assessment, organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
