This position is a temporary assignment which includes benefits such as medical, health, dental, and 401k. Eligibility is based on requirements determined by the BD Total Rewards policy. This position will support remediation activities within MMS and is anticipated to last through March 31, 2026.
The Product Security Business Process Owner (BPO) is accountable for process development, continuous improvement, automation, tooling, and training of product security processes affecting product development and maintenance. This role involves quality management and engineering for medical devices, providing guidance to ensure products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. Candidates should have experience in cybersecurity controls and process automation.
Job Description Summary:
Applies medical device development expertise to provide leadership in the creation and maintenance of product security processes.
Provides strategic and tactical direction and oversight to ensure consistent leadership for Product Security processes.
Monitors internal and external regulatory observations and implements changes across supported business units.
Participates in QMS tactical and strategic activities, including Design Control and Change Control processes.
Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains the Product Security process, ensuring effective implementation of policy, procedures, and tools within the MMS business unit.
Works with Product Development Process leadership and stakeholders to maintain a comprehensive product security program.
Delivers training programs and participates in core product development and post-market business processes.
Coordinates, organizes, and reports on project activities and supports BU adoption of product security frameworks.
Acts as a subject matter authority on Product Security, leading continuous process improvements.
Ensures consistent application of product security activities across the Quality System.
Monitors and addresses audit observations and regulatory changes.
Supports regulatory inspections and audits.
Education and Experience:
Minimum BS/MS degree in life science, engineering, or relevant discipline; experience with hardware and software preferred.
At least 8 years in a Class I/II/III medical device, with experience in Risk Management.
Experience with FDA CFR 820.30, IEC 62304, TIR 57, and other Product Security regulations.
Strong background in Product Security and understanding of design control requirements.
Proven ability as a change agent across a large organization.
Strong technical writing and communication skills.
