
Job Description
Objective / Purpose:
- Lead the overall relationship for driving operational and commercial excellence with assigned suppliers/categories supporting global development operations.
- Drive partnership governance, cost optimization and continuous improvement between Takeda and supplier(s).
- Identify, assess and implement opportunities to enhance Takeda’s ability to effectively work externally and be a “partner of Choice.”
- Promote and implement innovation initiatives within the relationship and across the category.
- Enable predictable delivery of portfolio, through cross-functional collaboration, proactive risk and issue management and utilizing data-driven analytics.
Accountabilities:
- Lead and facilitate the supplier governance framework, including chairing governance meetings and maintaining critical oversight tools (e.g performance metrics, scorecards, risk registers).
- Manage operational performance improvements by conducting thorough root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and driving process standardization and change management activities.
- Work with Clinical Partner Outsourcing (CPO) team to ensure execution of studies is in line with commercial constructs and operational performance targets.
- Assess partner services to ensure alignment with Takeda’s current and future needs, ensuring capabilities conform to organizational requirements and strategies.
- Leveraging best practices, provide direction to optimize the success, value and efficiency of the Takeda-supplier relationship.
- Effectively manage open and/or escalated issues to timely and effective resolution
- Work closely with Procurement, Therapeutic Areas, Business Partners, CPO and Study teams to review and drive sourcing strategies and to define and implement commercial constructs supporting business requirements.
- Ensure supplier innovation and continuous improvement initiatives align with business objectives and sourcing strategies
- Act as a role model and coach for Takeda functions involved in day-to-day management of the supplier, driving a partnership mindset and culture.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable internal policies and procedures, regulations; support inspection readiness of all regulated activities.
Education & Competencies (Technical and Behavioral):
- BS/BA required; advanced technical degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years of applicable drug development operations experience, global experience preferred
- Experienced and knowledgeable across key clinical operational functions (e.g. project management, clinical monitoring, data management process, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, etc.) to enable meaningful dialogue within Takeda and with partners
- Proven experience in Alliance/Partnership excellence: deep understanding/experience of building, maintaining, and closing partnerships including tools/methods
- Expertise in the ability to perform root cause analysis, develop corrective actions, and drive process improvement
- Highly skilled in leveraging data insights for decision-making and process optimization
- Strong financial management, negotiation and conflict resolution and team building skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience in leading one or more of the following categories: CRO, central and specialty labs, functional service providers, clinical technologies

$174,500.00 - $274,230.00
