About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Tool Sharpening and Grinding Technician to join our team! In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring our precision tools are properly sharpened, maintained, and ready for production. You’ll work hands-on with our grinding equipment and contribute to the training and safety of our growing team.

About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Tool Sharpening and Grinding Technician to join our team! In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring our precision tools are properly sharpened, maintained, and ready for production. You’ll work hands-on with our grinding equipment and contribute to the training and safety of our growing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Select the appropriate ring gear based on the tool’s wing count.
- Mount tools securely onto the grinding arbor.
- Adjust the tool's hook by aligning a wing against the wheel before grinding.
- Start and operate grinding machinery, adjusting as needed to ensure precision.
- Carefully approach the grinding wheel and spark tips for accuracy.
- Index each wing and repeat the process until the tool head is fully sharpened.
- Visually inspect tools for dullness, tapering, bowing, and tip thickness inconsistencies.
- Properly stage tools for the next production step.
- Train and mentor others in sharpening and grinding techniques while ensuring a safe working environment.
- Strong math skills (basic arithmetic and fractions).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Basic computer skills are a plus.
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 3 years of experience preferred; however, we will provide comprehensive on-the-job training for motivated candidates without experience.
- On-the-job training and skill development opportunities.
- OSHA-mandated safety training.
- Cross-training in other operational areas for career growth.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Regular use of hands and arms for handling tools and materials.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
- Good vision required (close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception).
- Strong ability to identify issues, collect and analyze data, and implement solutions.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions and troubleshoot using logic and critical thinking.
