Racing Louisville FC is seeking a dynamic Player Operations Manager to play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the team. This position will work closely with the General Manager and coaching staff to ensure smooth execution of core administrative functions and team logistics. The position encompasses leadership and staff supervision, budget oversight, efficient systems and processes development, and support for key team events and initiatives.

Team Operations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead all aspects of team administration, including logistics, travel, player care, team security, equipment, and related functions.
  • Coordinate and manage the team’s master schedule in collaboration with the General Manager (GM), Head Coach, and leadership team.
  • Oversee team communication platforms: update schedules, send announcements, and manage user access.
  • Oversee player onboarding, including housing, transportation, visas, and integration of trialists or replacement players.
  • Oversee home match day logistics, including locker room setup (home and away), referee coordination, security, and match evaluator support.
  • Manage visiting team logistics and ensure adherence to league timelines.

Travel & Logistics

  • Accompany the team on away trips, serving as the primary contact for all travel-related needs and adjustments.
  • Plan and manage all travel and meal logistics for away matches in compliance with league standards.
  • Book team flights (including managing name changes), hotel accommodations, meeting spaces, and other logistics.
  • Coordinate with the Team Dietician on pre- and post-match meals, including executing BEOs and distribution of per diem.

Administrative & League Compliance

  • Ensure Racing Louisville’s full compliance with all NWSL league rules and regulations.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to the CBA, league communications, international player visas, and relocation logistics.
  • Supervise the Player Operations Coordinator and Equipment Manager, providing clear direction and ensuring alignment with team needs.
  • Foster a productive environment for players and staff through strategic planning and operational execution.
  • Serve as a liaison between the soccer operations team and other business departments including Marketing, Communications, Sponsorships, Ticketing, Finance, IT, and HR.
  • Manage the team operations budget, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure timely reporting in partnership with the GM and CFO.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve team operations, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Regularly evaluate and refine departmental procedures to align with organizational goals.
  • Uphold safety, security, and confidentiality standards in all aspects of team operations.
  • Special projects as assigned by the GM or Soccer Holdings leadership.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will supervise the Player Operations Coordinator and Equipment Manager, providing clear direction and ensuring alignment with team needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, or a similar field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably within women’s sports and/or soccer.
  • Proven track record of success managing and developing high-performing operations teams
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated initiative, follow-through, and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in delivering clear progress updates.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort working on both Windows and Mac platforms.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive pre-employment background check is required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to walk significant distances, including up and down stairs, stand, sit, walk, bend, kneel, climb, grasp, stretch, stoop, and reach above head in conjunction with tasks.

Ability and willingness to work in all types of adverse weather conditions (i.e., heat, rain, cold, snow, wind).

Schedule

Must be able to travel and work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
