Corrective Action Program
- Develop, implement, and manage a systematic Corrective Action Program (CAP) that ensures effective closure of findings from incidents, audits, and observations.
- Conduct effectiveness reviews to validate that corrective actions are implemented and achieving intended risk mitigation.
- Track, trend, and report on corrective actions to identify systemic issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Design, implement, and manage a formal Incident Investigation Program to ensure thorough root cause analyses and consistent incident reviews.
- Conduct effectiveness reviews of investigations to confirm root causes are accurately identified and corrective actions address underlying risks.
- Lead or support serious incident investigations (including fatalities, life-altering injuries, and major property damage) with structured analysis methodologies.
- Train operational teams in investigation techniques such as TapRoot, 5-Why, and Cause Mapping.
- Approve and oversee investigation reports and ensure communication and integration of lessons learned across all field operations.
- Develop and lead a robust Audit and Observation Program focused on field activities, critical equipment, and high-risk operations.
- Analyze audit and observation data to identify trends, systemic issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with operations leadership to build and execute corrective action plans based on audit findings.
- Develop competency frameworks that align with operational risk profiles and critical task performance.
- Partner with operations and training teams to assess and verify crew readiness.
- Design and maintain risk models that assess crew and operational risk exposures based on experience, qualifications, and operational factors.
- Develop and maintain real-time readiness dashboards providing visibility into crew competency, outstanding corrective actions, and leading safety indicators.
- Ensure dashboards are integrated into daily operational management and decision-making processes.
- Master’s or PhD degree in Adult Learning, Education, Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 15 years total experience in training, adult learning program design, competency development, and field operations support.
- Minimum 10 years direct experience working in electric operations (e.g., generation, transmission, distribution, substation, or line work environments).
- Minimum 5 years direct experience developing and managing corrective action and incident investigation programs.
- Minimum 4 years direct experience leading investigations into serious incidents (e.g., fatalities, serious injuries, high-potential events).
- Strong expertise in incident investigation methodologies (e.g., TapRoot, Cause Mapping) and root cause analysis.
- Proficient in KPI development, dashboard design, and risk modeling using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, influence, and collaborate effectively with operations leadership.
- Professional safety or adult learning certifications (e.g., CSP, ASP, CPLP/CPTD, CHST, CMIOSH) preferred, or equivalent demonstrated experience in high-risk, field-based industries.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP/CPTD), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH).
- Experience designing and deploying competency-based safety and training programs across multi-site or multi-regional operations.
- Advanced knowledge of adult learning principles and human factors in high-risk environments.
- Background in predictive risk analytics and operational readiness modeling.
- Proven success leading cultural change initiatives in construction, energy, industrial, or heavy manufacturing sectors.
- Experience applying continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Safety) to safety and training systems.
- Bilingual (e.g., Spanish, French, Portuguese) is a plus for multinational or multicultural operations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- In-depth understanding of behavioral safety, hazard identification, and operational risk management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across dynamic and geographically dispersed field operations.
- High proficiency in using technology and data for decision-making and safety performance management.
- Ability to work collaboratively across organizational boundaries and within small teams to strengthen safety culture, operational readiness, and performance outcomes.
- Field-based presence expected (~30–50% travel).
- Combination of office, remote, and on-site (field/project) work locations.
- Occasional exposure to active construction, industrial, and energy environments.
