ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIES

- Assist with patient positioning to ensure comfort and proper alignment during treatment.
- Monitor patient well-being throughout the treatment process.
- Prepare treatment rooms with appropriate equipment and supplies.
- Ensure treatment equipment is maintained and functioning correctly.
- Ensures that patients, staff, and themselves are protected from unnecessary exposure by following strict safety protocols and using personal protective equipment correctly.
- Maintain accurate records of treatment procedures and patient information.
- Communicate with patients and clinical staff regarding appointments and any scheduling changes.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling, answering phone calls, and general clinic operations.
- Performs other position related duties as assigned.
- Employees shall adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and will comply with and assist in complying with all applicable laws and regulations. This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.
- BLS certification required, ACLS preferred.
- Ability to operate and maintain complex radiation therapy machines, such as linear accelerators. This requires understanding calibration, positioning systems, and safety protocols.
- Knowledge of radiation protection principles is critical.
- Customer-oriented with ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to explain procedures, offer reassurance, and respond empathetically to concerns.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate patient positioning and precise adherence to treatment plans, minimizing the risk of errors and supporting safe, effective care.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and radiation therapists, while accurately following instructions to support the treatment plan.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills to accurately update patient records, document treatment sessions, and manage schedules while maintaining confidentiality
- One (1) year certificate from college or technical school in Radiation Therapy certified by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
- Completion of a clinical internship in Radiation Therapy as part of an accredited educational program is required.
