We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects. You will analyze project specifications, collaborate with project managers and field teams, and leverage advanced estimating software to ensure competitive and precise pricing. Your expertise will be critical in developing project budgets that drive successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation Analyze project specifications, drawings, and contracts to develop detailed estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work.
- Software Proficiency Utilize specialized construction estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to generate accurate cost projections.
- Collaboration Work closely with construction managers and project teams to develop and refine project budgets and forecasts.
- Field Assessment Conduct on-site visits to assess construction conditions and update estimates based on real-world data.
- Negotiation Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Contract Review Interpret and review construction contracts to ensure compliance with pricing terms and overall project requirements.
- Data Management Maintain detailed records of estimates, pricing trends, and project cost data to support future project planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience Minimum of 2 years of construction estimating experience, with a proven track record in project pricing, preferably within the heavy civil sector.
- Technical Skills Proficiency in using construction estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam is essential.
- Knowledge Base Strong understanding of construction management principles, cost control, and negotiation techniques.
- Education Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Communication Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
