POSITION OVERVIEW: Psychiatric NP’s provide evaluation & treatment for, and medication management of outpatient psychiatric participants. The PMHNP:

  • Provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for adults and children.
  • Prescribes psychotropic and related medications based on clinical indicators. Administers long acting injectables (LAI).
  • Ensures patient safety through the appropriate prescription and management of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
  • Treats acute and chronic psychiatric disorders and mental health problems. Addresses psychiatric emergencies by determining mental status and performing risk assessments.
  • Uses therapeutic modalities (CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, etc.), and monitors treatment response.
  • Collaborates with the treatment team which includes the prescribing physician, unit director, therapists, administration and VP of Behavioral Health.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current, state credentialed, designation as PMHNP
  • Experience conducting psychiatric evaluations & screening for co-occurring physical and mental health disorders
  • Direct care of patients with persistent mental health diagnoses

Schedule: (1) Full-time; Mon-Friday 9a-5pm, (1) Part-time
