Primary Function:
This Manager strategically executes the strategy as an agent of change within the organization and fosters a plan to build partnerships with existing and new suppliers that support the overall vision. This position will be out of the Lex East, Shelton, CT location.

This Manager strategically executes the strategy as an agent of change within the organization and fosters a plan to build partnerships with existing and new suppliers that support the overall vision. This position will be out of the Lex East, Shelton, CT location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and support a team of at least two Buyers.
- Lead supplier sourcing and negotiations for Military components
- Implement supplier agreements as required.
- Perform Make vs. Buy analysis.
- Actively participate/lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR’s)
- Measure Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to ensure continued success towards local and corporate goals – Purchase price Variance (PPV), Supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD), Freight Spend
- Second source critical suppliers for make components.
- Track commodity trends and interface with Military Sales team to ensure costs align to support expected margin for contracts.
- Manage safety stock, lead-times, MOQ’s for assigned locations.
- Support the Corporate SIOP process as required.
- Support ISO 9001& AS-9100 audits
- Travel is required with this position.
- U.S. Citizen is required; this position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Engineering, Accounting, Business Management, or related field. MBA is preferred.
- 5+ years supervisory experience required, Supply Chain or Purchasing
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 & AS-9100 is required.
- ERP/MRP experience (i.e. Made2Manage, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle)
- DFARS/FAR experience
- Government sourcing contract experience
- Experience in - machined parts, sheet metal, cable, and connectors
- Superior Negotiation Experience
- MS Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Power BI
- Excellent analytical skills and problem solving
- Experienced – Supply Chain strategy, supplier relationships, project management, contracts, and cost reductions
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Process oriented, high-level sense of urgency
- Good business sense and capability to develop a vision and/or strategy.
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Ability to guide and motivate work teams in meeting department and company goals and objectives.
- Ability to be adaptable & flexible to changing workplace priorities.
