
San Diego Humane Society is hiring a full-time Guest Relations & Adoptions Supervisor for our San Diego Campus!

What you’ll do:
- Supervise Guest Relations and Adoptions Department staff members including making recommendations for hiring and firing. Conduct disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, orientation, training, instruction, and coaching for staff and program volunteers.
- Assist in overall management of Guest Relations and Adoptions Departments and provide support or serve as a back up to the Guest Relations & Adoptions Manager as needed.
- Consistently monitor customer flow, ensuring that guests are being assisted as quickly as possible and that their needs are met throughout the adoption process.
- Ensure the guest’s needs are met throughout the adoption process from viewing the animals, explanation of process, waivers and recommendations and assuring that all adoption counselors abide by policies and procedures.
- Assist in providing management with daily and monthly financial reports, including, but not limited to sales, inventory aging, purchase orders, vouchers, customer category reports and retail statistics.
What we’re looking for:
- AA degree in related field and three (3) years of full time related paid experience working in customer service, working with animals in a kennel, shelter, or veterinary hospital, retail management/inventory management or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced training and/or instruction in the field of animal care preferred.
- Animal industry retail buying and budget management experience preferred.
- One (1) year experience as a supervisor highly preferred.
- Must become an SDHS Certified Euthanasia Technician (CET) within six months of employment and maintain certification.
Location & Hours: Based at our San Diego Campus. This position works 40 hours per week.
Pay: Starting range is between $26.00 – $28.91 per hour and is eligible for an hourly bilingual-Spanish premium.
The listed hiring range for this position depicts the target range of pay rates for candidates. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. Compensation for internal candidates may increase beyond the listed range based on performance over time. For all candidates, the actual starting pay rate is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to your years of related education and experience, internal pay equity, and position location.
