Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Accounting Manager to join our team at Onicon Incorporated. The ideal candidate will oversee the Accounting Department, handling financial reporting, variance analysis, and supervising staff while reporting to the Controller. The role emphasizes process improvement and leadership in accounting practices. Responsibilities include financial analysis, general ledger management, and supporting audits.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the accounting staff
- Responsible for day-to-day general ledger accounting and reconciliation, financial reporting and analysis for assigned functional areas.
- Manage the month end close process
- Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analysis
- Supporting strategic planning and budgeting processes
- Analyzing data to ensure proper accounting procedures have been followed
- Preparing sales and marketing financial analysis
- Identifying and communicating useful information to provide practical business leadership to drive business decision making across the company
- Providing ad-hoc financial analyses as needed
- Communicating with colleagues at various business units to resolve issues, advise on discrepancies and follow through with appropriate action
- Taking initiative to implement changes which will continually improve processes, support standardization and effectiveness
- Supporting external audit procedures
- Embracing other duties as assigned to promote optimum business functions
- Demonstrate a high level of experience as a proven people manager. You are a strategic thinker who can successfully identify new opportunities and act quickly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to successfully handle multiple concurrent tasks
- Dependable, able to meet deadlines and like to work in a fast paced and changing environment
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills for dealing with all levels of staff, customers, suppliers, and operations
- Team oriented with strong interpersonal skills
- Proven Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver timely assignments.
- B.S. in Accounting
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
