Basic Description:

The UX/UI Designer will manage the design, layout and functionality of our websites for a user-friendly and visually appealing user interface. They will tackle a wide variety of projects related to multi-website design and functionality, which will include collaboration with our developer team. In this role, the designer will conceptualize and create visuals across the brand including front-end web design and illustrations in other user-facing software. They will create both functional and appealing features that address our clients’ needs and help us grow our business.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with web developer, project managers for specific software
  • Create designs that honor company brand
  • Design a web brand/design system that flows with all company sites
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
  • Design with accessibility and a full range of screen sizes in mind
  • Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets
  • Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like
  • Create original designs in collaboration with the graphic design team
  • Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (i.e. responsiveness) and interaction
  • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
  • Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images
  • Works closely with other departments on all front-end design needs (i.e. Marketing, Servicing)
  • Frequent collaboration with back-end developer team
  • Research current UX/UI design trends and best industry practices

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 2-3+ years UI/UX Designer or similar role
  • Demonstrated proficiency in field
  • Knowledge of wireframe tools and high-fidelity mock-ups
  • High proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, and After Effects
  • Solid understanding of CSS frameworks and capable of using browser debugging tools for troubleshooting
  • Strong knowledge of front-end development web programming languages such as HTML, Python, JavaScript & CSS
  • A/B testing, web and email marketing is a plus
  • Team player, strong communication skills and self-starter
  • Good time-management skills
