Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Loan Operations Manager to oversee the overall management of loan operations, specifically focusing on mortgage and consumer loan support staff. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient document preparation, processing, servicing, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Job Summary
Responsible for the overall loan operations management and oversight of the mortgage and consumer loan support staff. This includes document preparation, processing and servicing, account reconciliation, general ledger balancing and reporting functions, post-closing document review and imaging. Supervise loan document preparation to ensure all loans are being processed in a timely and proper manner. Supervise all aspects of loan servicing to include payment posting, loan booking, escrow processing, and system review. Manage the post-closing function to ensure all Deeds of Trust, UCC’s and Security documents are accurate and the Bank is secured. Oversee the imaging and vault retention of secured documents and legal instruments to ensure they are properly imaged for the review of lenders and audit personnel. Performs other duties in support of lending operations as identified in Essential Functions. Accuracy and timeliness are required in performing all tasks. Ensures that confidentiality is maintained at all times.

Essential Functions
- Interviews, hires, and trains employees for the department.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the loan processing and loan servicing departments.
- Work with Chief Credit Officer, Compliance, and staff to ensure efficient and accurate workflow.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of current software systems:
- Attend user update meetings for LOS and supporting systems
- Review all system release notes and communicate changes with staff
- Update department procedures accordingly
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly regarding complex systems and procedures.
- Develops procedural changes as compliance or credit requires, or new programs demand.
- Monitors outstanding exceptions for mortgage and consumer lending, which may include trailing documents, final title, etc.
- Audit loan documents to ensure quality and ensures that the core system input accurately reflects contract terms.
- Acts as the primary interface between compliance and staff.
- Ensures accurate loan payment processing to minimize customer complaints. Implements training for staff when required.
- Responsible for oversight of loan year-end processing.
- Responsible for oversight of loan escrow processing, to include periodic disbursements and analysis.
- Report review for accuracy, to include loan maintenance, posted transaction, non-post, rate changes, and others as assigned.
- Is responsible for successful completion of all required compliance training. Performs loan processing functions in accord with relevant training. Participates in training meetings to keep abreast of changes in regulations that affect loan originating and reporting.

Requirements
Position Requirements:
- Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a financial institution, preferred.
- Managerial responsibility for a moderate number of employees (typically 5 or more) with diverse functions.
- Ability to motivate or influence others.
- Ability to communicate with customers, Loan Officers, Compliance, processing staff, and outside service providers.
- Demonstrate a significant level of trust or diplomacy.
- Extensive knowledge of consumer and real estate lending practices and procedures.
- Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge:
- Familiarity with key regulations such as Dodd-Frank, CFPB guidelines, TILA-RESPA, and HMDA.
- Understanding of state-specific lending laws and regulations.
- Ability to ensure all loan operations comply with federal and state regulations.
- Regularly update knowledge on regulatory changes and implement necessary procedural adjustments.
