Key Responsibilities:
Reinsurance Reporting:
- Manage and drive the reinsurance reporting process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Upgrade and increase flexibility of reinsurance renewal and audit data calls.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive reinsurance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with reinsurance, finance, and actuarial teams to gather and analyze data for reporting purposes.
- Perform detailed data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business decision-making.
- Utilize advanced analytical techniques to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable recommendations.
- Develop predictive models and risk assessments to support reinsurance strategies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the reinsurance reporting and data analytics functions.
- Implement best practices and streamline workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead initiatives to automate manual processes and reduce operational risks.
- Design and develop interactive dashboards using Power BI to visualize key metrics and performance indicators.
- Ensure dashboards are user-friendly, visually appealing, and provide real-time insights to stakeholders.
- Continuously enhance and update dashboards based on user feedback and evolving business needs.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Power BI, providing guidance and support to team members.
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports, datasets, and data models.
- Train and mentor team members on Power BI best practices and advanced functionalities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and translate them into data-driven deliverables and solutions.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
- Assist in the development of business requirements documentation and user acceptance test (UAT) execution.
- Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to optimize data infrastructure, streamline data workflows, and develop new data pipelines where applicable.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in reinsurance reporting, data analytics, or a similar role within the insurance industry.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in data analytics, with experience leading end-to-end projects.
- Proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, etc.
- Extensive experience with data visualization and data presentation using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Experience with SQL, Excel, and other data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing best practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in the insurance industry, with a solid understanding of insurance products, underwriting, claims, and risk management.
- Ability to translate business needs and challenges into technical requirements to work with relevant data engineering and software engineering teams on developing deliverables which make tangible business impact.
- Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPCU, ARe, CFA).
- Experience with other data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI preferred, Tableau, Qlik).
- Knowledge of reinsurance treaties and regulatory requirements.
