Education / Experience/ Skills And Ability Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources management or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- At least 5 years Human Resources management experience required
- Prior HR experience in the ski industry preferred
- PHR, SPHR certification preferred
- Must possess strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills
- Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Teams, Publisher, Photo manipulation)
- Experience using HRIS software to maintain employee records, process payroll, and produce reports
- Skis/Snowboards at an intermediate or above level

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance.
- In collaboration with Department Managers: recruits, interviews, tests and selects employees to fill vacant positions
- Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals
- Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plans, personal transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance review, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting
- Coordinates management training and interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, harassment and discrimination
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
- Responds to inquires regarding policies, procedures and programs
- Administers salary administration program to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity within the organization
- Manages employee uniform program
- Manages employee recognition programs and monthly employee events
- Responsible for payroll processing and reporting
- Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
- Works with Director of Risk Management to investigate accidents and prepare reports for insurance carrier
- Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate
- Prepares budget of human resources operations
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations
- Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover
- Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations
- The final end of month procedure requires HR to produce and deliver an accrued payroll, 401K and GL summary distribution reports to accounting. This is also the time to discuss with accounting any irregularities that may have occurred during the month such as voided checks, duplicate payments, direct deposits that did not process, garnishment issues, 401K issues and other misc. discrepancies.
- Set the example by actively contributing to department and company goals
- Clarify expectations and seek additional training as needed
- Build quality into work. Ensure processes are consistent with quality objectives. Be aware of current quality levels versus target levels.
- Develop and achieve departmental/company goals and controls. Make suggestions for improvement in areas of cost reduction, processes, quality and productivity.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
