  • We are looking for a Customer Service Agent to support a fast-growing business focused on beginner Bonsai workshops and product sales through Shopify.
  • The role includes managing ticket sales, handling guest inquiries, managing rescheduling and refunds, and ensuring smooth event operations.
  • They will primarily be using Shopify Hubspot, Facebook, and Instagram for communication, support, and ticket handling.
  • This role demands prompt communication, basic troubleshooting, and the ability to manage high-touch customer interactions.
  • Familiarity with bonsai or plants is a plus as they’ll also respond to product care inquiries.

Your Mission Will Be To

  • Manage event ticket sales, refunds, and transfers through Shopify
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries via chat, email, and social media
  • Assist with venue-related questions and rescheduling requests
  • Monitor and manage event planning logistics, especially for group bookings
  • Enforce policies (e.g., no plus-ones, presales)
  • Handle product-related questions, including bonsai care, shipping, and damage complaints
  • Escalate complex issues such as instructor no-shows, event mix-ups, or urgent onsite problems
  • Track and report on customer interactions to help meet SLAs, FRT, and resolution time goals

Tech Checklist – Gotta Have It!

  • Proven experience with customer service, particularly in eCommerce or event management
  • Familiarity with Shopify for handling tickets, refunds, and event managemen
  • Comfortable working with Facebook and Instagram as a communication platform
  • Available to work Monday to Friday, 9AM – 6PM EST
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Able to handle 20–30 tickets per day plus DMs across social media platforms
  • Tech-savvy and a fast learner
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

Important Criteria

  • A background or interest in plants is highly preferred
  • Must be able to de-escalate issues and build trust with customers
  • Ability to identify and merge duplicate messages across platforms
  • Commitment to reduce First Response Time (FRT) to under 24 hours
  • Must know when and how to escalate issues (e.g., no-show instructors, incorrect locations) Slack or mobile
