Foreperson Utility Pole Restoration GOS

As a utility pole restoration foreperson, you'll lead a crew of field workers in providing a wide variety of reinforcement and restoration solutions including steel reinforcement and composite restoration.

We provide Paid On-The-Job Training, Hotel Accommodations, Per-Diem, Performance incentives, transportation from starting point to remote location and much more. PPE provided, including Hardhat, Safety Vest, Safety glasses, work gloves, etc. You’ll be required to provide acceptable work wear, as well as good work boots with a hard toe.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Hiring, training, managing and supervising a crew of 1 to 5 people.
  • Familiar and capable of operating restoration equipment.
  • Conduct class upgrades for overloaded poles (pole reclassification).
  • Use of pole loading software to determine actual load conditions of in-service poles.
  • Maintain all tools, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Achieve expected safety, quality, and production goals.
  • Collect field data and maintain daily and weekly reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Computer and smartphone literate.
  • Ability to read maps and navigate in congested areas.
  • Independently manage time and workload to meet deadlines.
  • Mechanically inclined and experience with a variety of tools.
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions applicable.
  • This is a minimum 40-hour workweek with Saturdays considered inclement weather make-up days.
  • Must adhere to all Company policies and procedures.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Pre-Screen

  • Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

License & Certifications:

  • Driver's License required. Must have a clean driving record, free of any major moving violations within the last three years, minimal non-moving violations.

Travel Requirements:

Willing to travel locally, statewide, and regionally as needed. Overnight stays will be necessary (Paid hotel accommodations provided by the employer along with a per-diem).

Safety:

Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
